We release experimental features to benefit our advanced user community

Summary
Why might I want to use SRT?
- SRT is another method to send your stream to sidelineHD. You will get the same UP/DOWN messages, the same publishing to FB/YT, and the same clips.
- The SRT protocol allows you to use HEVC (H.265) video compression, which sends the same quality video in 1/2 the bandwidth.
- More reliable data transmission in certain situations.
What should I know?
- SRT works as any other sidelineHD advanced camera source.
- You will get UP / DOWN text messages as before.
Creating your SRT URL:
1/ Log in to sidelineHD and navigate to your sidelineHD camera settings (Settings -> Stream Settings -> Camera Settings).
2/ If you don't already have an advanced camera, create one.
3/ Get your sidelineHD Stream URL and Stream Key by clicking the three dots next to your camera setup and then press Advanced Settings. There is your Stream URL and Stream Key.
Your SRT URL is:
srt://g002.sideline-ingest.com:50000?streamid=shd03/{Stream Key}
(in the above, 0="zero")
For example, let's say your stream key is: s03-wwww-xxxx-yyyy-zzzz. Your SRT URL would then be:
srt://g002.sideline-ingest.com:50000?streamid=shd03/s03-wwww-xxxx-yyyy-zzzz
In some situations, you may need to use this longer URL:
srt://g002.sideline-ingest.com:50000?maxbw=625000&latency=3000&streamid=shd03/{Stream Key}
NOTE: URL parameters are subject to change
SRT parameters / notes:
- We recommend H.265 (HEVC). There are easier ways to send us H.264.
- Do not exceed 4mbit (maxbw = 625000).
- Do not exceed 1080p.
- For time-sync parity, we currently force a latency = 3000ms.
