If you stream with the Larix Broadcaster app and receive connectivity warnings:


You can improve stream quality by switching Larix Broadcaster to use HEVC mode.  


HEVC is advanced video compression that allows great looking 720p streams with bandwidths as low as 1Mbit.  (Larix, Mevo, and GoPro default to the industry standard H.264 over RTMP, which requires a connection of 2Mbit or greater for 720p.)


Note 1: If you have not set up your device to broadcast to sidelineHD, follow these steps first.

Note 2: If your account was set up after June 15, 2022, HEVC is on by default and you can skip this article.





Changing Larix to use HEVC compression


These steps assume that you have already streamed to sidelineHD via your Larix Broadcaster app.  If not, follow these steps first.


1. Open Larix Broadcaster and tap the Gear button



2. Select Video



3. Adjust your video settings as follows:



No other steps are required.  When you stream live, you can monitor the quality of your connection by looking at the lower left hand corner.  


If you stream warning text messages, follow the steps above to access the video window and change to a lower resolution as directed.
