New Season Team Maintenance

The new season is here and it's time to get your team set up! Should you make a new one? Or keep last year's? How can you edit last year's to show this season's roster?

We have all the answers for you and are here to help! Continue below to learn more!

New vs Existing Team?

In most cases, we recommend creating a new team for each season, but the decision is ultimately a matter of personal preference!

Keep your existing team if

  • You are staying with the same organization
  • You have a small number of changes, such as adding a new player

Create a new team if

  • You have changed organizations
  • You want to make significant changes to your team name or handle
  • You are removing multiple players or coaches
  • iScore - iScore users should create new teams if they need to make multiple changes (such as swapping player jersey numbers, adding/removing several players
  • If you are using iScore and have mismatched players on screen, start with a clean slate by creating a new team

SLHD TIP

Does this season's team have a lot of the same players as last year? Not a problem! We make it easy to rollover players from existing teams so you don't need to make a new player profile! Learn more about rolling over players.

Transferred players (if claimed) will have clips from ALL their teams on single player page.

Existing Team

New season, same team! Using an existing team is a great option if you don't have a lot of changes for this new season! However, you may still want to clean up your roster a bit. Here's a few things you may want to look at to refresh your team for this upcoming season!

SLHD/iScore TIP

If you are an iScore user, enter the new player in iScore first, then perform a roster resync AFTER adding new players to iScore. This transfers new players from iScore to your sidelineHD roster.

Deactivate Players

Deactivating a player are no longer members of the team community and will be hidden from team and public pages. Past highlights will remain available on their players page. They will no longer have access to play-by-play game summaries.

You can always reactivate a player when necessary!

  1. Login to your sidelineHD Account
  2. Select your Team Card
  3. Select the Roster Tab
  4. Select the Pencil icon next to the player you want to deactivate
  5.  Select Deactivate this player
    • The player is now in your deactivated list

What is the difference between deactivating and deleting a player?

While deactivating a player makes them no longer visible on the roster, deleting a player permanently deletes that players profile; including all players' clips, highlight and data. Only unclaimed players can be deleted. Deleting a player is permanent. We strongly advise deactivating players as opposed to deleting them.

Reactivate Players

  1. Login to your sidelineHD Account
  2. Select your Team Card
  3. Select the Roster Tab
  4. Select the Show Deactivated button.
  5. Select Pencil Icon next to the player to reactivate
  6. Select Reactivate this player
    • The player is now on your active roster
