iScore vs sidelineSCORE

When scoring Baseball and Softball, you have 2 scoring options: sidelineSCORE and iScore.

SidelineSCORE is sidelineHD's default and recommend scoring system while iScore is a third-party scoring system that integrates with sidelineHD.

In this article, we will primarily walkthrough the iScore integration and how to pair

What's the difference?

While both iScore and sidelineSCORE allow you to identify your batter/pitcher and generate highlight videos, we recommend using sidelineSCORE. sidelineSCORE is sidelineHD's branded scoring experience included in the sidelineHD app!

iScore is a separate third-party scorekeeping app that pairs with sidelineHD. sidelineHD will monitor your team's iScorecast feed to control your scoreboard, show who's batting/pitching and generate clips for your game. When using iScore all game creation and scoring is done within the iScore App. The iScore app will need to be paired with your sidelineHD team.

What you will Need

Things to Know

  • iScore is a device specific scoring system.
    • Every game you score with iScore, will need to use the same device that was used to pair your iScore with your sidelineHD team.
  • For specific questions about iScore, please email iScore directly: support@iscoresports.com
  • The pairing process involves transferring your sidelineHD roster to iScore (recommended). SidelineHD can alternatively "learn" an existing iScore roster.

Pairing iScore to sidelineHD

  1. Login to your sidelineHD Account
  2. Select the Team Card
  3. Select Settings in the top right corner
  4. Select Scoring Settings
  5. Select Pair iScore
  6. Select Transfer to iScore
    • The following on-screen prompts will guide you to turn on iScorecast and import a team. Be sure to follow all of the steps. Continue with steps below to follow along as you go.
  7. Download the The iScore App on iOS or Android
  8. Open the iScore app
  9. Go to Options
  10. Turn on the iScorecast switch
  11. Select the <- Back button
  12. Select Team Manager
  13. Select Discover Team
  14. Select sidelineHD
  15. Enter your Team Handle and Team Pin from sidelineHD
    • IMPORTANT: After the import, the sidelineHD web app may guide you to create a fake game.   This allows our servers to confirm the data connection.  If you exit before this step completes, pairing will not complete.
  16. Go to "GAME MANAGER" within the iScore app to create an iScore game with this new team
  17. Check to make sure this game appears on the schedule tab on your sidelineHD team page
  18. Select Done and you're all set!
    • If this step is skipped, the connection will not be complete

Do I have to use iScore?

No iScore is an option but it is not required; we highly recommend sidelineSCORE instead of iScore

Can I switch from iScore back to sidelineSCORE at any time?

Yes, you can use iScore and then switch back to sidelineSCORE by unpairing iScore. If you want to use iScore again, you'll need to pair your iScore device app back to your sidelineHD team. You cannot switch in the middle of a game, though, unless your stream down for 5 minutes and back up again.

Is iScore the only third-party scoring option supported?

Yes, iScore is the only supported third-party scoring option supported for baseball and softball.

Where is my iScore handle and Pin?

If your team is paired to iScore, your handle and pin for iScore pairing is located under Team Settings>Scoring Settings.

If you have not paired iScore yet, you will need to pair iScore and follow all the steps. Your handle and pin are displayed in Step 4 of Pair iScore using the transfer roster to iScore option.

SLHD TIP

Keep in mind you can switch to sidelineSCORE at anytime by unpairing this integration!
