These steps will help you troubleshoot your iScore connection.
Note: If you are stepping in for another scorer or do not require statistics, consider sidelineSCORE. It is the simplest way to control the scoreboard and Team Managers can switch between sidelineSCORE and iScore with no data loss. (For switching instructions, see this article.)
STEP 1: Am I streaming to the right place?
1. Confirm that your livestream has overlays. Your livestream should have a logo and title bar (or scoreboard).
If you do not see any overlays, then your stream is not passing through sidelineHD's servers. (You are streaming directly to Facebook or YouTube.) Follow the directions in the sidelineHD STREAMING tab to have your camera stream RTMP to sidelineHD.
2. Confirm that your camera is pointing to the correct team. Make sure the title bar has the correct team name. (For example, if you are scoring for Varsity, make sure it's not titled for JV.). If it's wrong, take your stream down, go to the sidelineHD STREAMING tab, and point your camera to the right place.
If it's wrong, You'll want to take your stream down and repoint the camera to the correct team then restart the stream. For third party cameras that can be done from this page:
Settings>Stream Settings>Camera Settings, select the three dots, edit camera, and change the drop-down to the correct team.
**** Please wait 5 minutes after taking your stream down before repointing the camera and starting the stream to the correct team*****
Using the sidelineHD App to stream? Simply stop streaming, select the correct team from the drop-down box, and restart the stream.
STEP 2: Confirm your scoreboard controller is set to iScore
Are you paired with iScore?"
You can check your iScore pairing status by clicking Settings>Scoring Settings from your team's page.
If it says Pair iScore, select Pair iScore and follow the instructions in the setup flow.
iScore is device-specific; you will want to use the same device you linked sidelineHD with iScore to score games with.
Go to your team's page and click Settings>Scoring Settings.
Is iScore Paired? Do you see this screen? If yes, move to Step 4
If you see the below screen instead, it means that pairing was not successful. You may have never paired, or you may not have finished the pairing process. Go to Step 3
STEP 3: Pair iScore
Follow these steps to pair your iScore device with sidelineHD.
- Click on "Settings>Scoring Settings" >> "Pair iScore" >>"Transfer roster to iScore".
- The prompts will guide you to turn on iScorecast and import a team. Be sure to follow all of the steps and select the Done button in the sidelineHD iScore pairing flow when complete.
- IMPORTANT: After the import, the sidelineHD web app may guide you to create a fake game. This allows our servers to confirm the data connection. If you exit before this step completes, pairing will not complete.
-
Go to "GAME MANAGER" within the iScore app to create an iScore game with this new team. The game should appear on the schedule tab on your sidelineHD team page.
- You should see the fake game that you created in iScore on your sidelineHD schedule page
The device you paired iScore with must be the device you score the game with. iScore is device-specific and not cloud-based.
Step 4: Confirm that iScorecast data is making it to iScore's servers
iScore Central is iScore's has app-based game viewer.
You can search for teams and see recent games.
Your live scorecast should appear on iScore Central and be in close sync with your iScore app's scoring
Manually re-sync a game to iScore
In some situations, you will need to manually prod iScore to synchronize with the server. You may need to perform this step when:
- Using the lineup tool
- Re-titling the game after it's started
- Restarting iScore
STEP 5: If your scoreboard still isn't showing up: Unpair iScore from your scoring device and pair it again
Navigate to your team page, then Settings>Scoring Settings
If it says Pair iScore, select Pair iScore and follow the instructions in the setup flow.
If it says you are paired, you should see any games you recently created on the schedule tab for your SLHD team.
If you do not see recent games on the schedule tab that you created in iScore, this is a major red flag, and you should unpair iScore and then pair iScore using the Transfer Roster to iScore option.
The device you paired iScore with must be the device you score the game with. iScore is device-specific and not cloud-based.
OPTION 1: Reset iScore. This option is easiest and recommended if you don't have valuable stats stored on your iScore app. See this article for a step-by-step guide of this process.
OPTION 2: Pair team manually. This option is best if you have valuable stats stored on your iScore app.
- Go to "TEAM MANAGER" within the iScore app.
- If your team is listed more than once...delete the wrong version(s) of your team and keep the one you care about.
- in the sidelineHD settings Click on "Settings>Scoring Settings" >> "Pair iScore" >>"Transfer roster to iScore".
- The prompts will guide you to turn on iScorecast and import a team. Be sure to follow all of the steps.
-
IMPORTANT: After the import, the sidelineHD web app may guide you to create a fake game. This allows our servers to confirm the data connection. If you exit before this step completes, pairing will not complete.
- During the pairing process, if we detect there is an iScore team with the same name in your iScore App, select Yes check for updates.
Go to "GAME MANAGER" within the iScore app to create an iScore game with this new team. The game should appear on the schedule tab on your sidelineHD team page.
- Select the "Done" button in the sidelineHD pairing flow to complete the process
- You should see that fake game appear on your sidelineHD schedule
