These steps will help you troubleshoot your iScore connection and general troubleshooting if you don't see active scoreboards on your livestream and you use iScore as your scoring controller.
Getting a scoreboard on your livestream is one of the best parts about livestreaming
with sidelineHD, and when it's not working, that can be pretty frustrating! Let's
go through some potential causes of this issue.
Note: If you are stepping in for another scorer or do not require statistics, consider sidelineSCORE. It is the simplest way to control the scoreboard and Team Managers can switch between sidelineSCORE and iScore with no data loss. (For switching instructions, see this article.)
My Scoreboard isn't showing up:
These steps will help you troubleshoot your iScore connection and ensure you are streaming to the correct team.
- Confirm Your livestream is Up
- Confirm you are streaming to the correct team
- Confirm your scoreboard is set to iScore
- Pair iScore
- Manually Re-Sync a game
-
If you scoreboard still isn't showing up: Unpair iScore and pair it again from your scoring device:
Step 1: Confirm Your Livestream Is Up
You can't get a scoreboard without a livestream! You will know that your livestream is up when you can watch it live on YouTube, Facebook or sidelineLIVE. If this livestream doesn't have a scoreboard, you should at least see your team name in the top or bottom.
- You should receive a text message indicating Stream up, along with the Team name.
-
Confirm you are not streaming direct to Facebook or Youtube.
If your livestream is not UP or you don't see your team name on the livestream,
If you do not see any overlays, then your stream is not passing through sidelineHD's servers.
(You might be streaming directly to Facebook or YouTube.)
Step 2: Confirm you are Streaming to the Correct Team
When streaming make sure the title bar has the correct team name.
If it is pointing to the wrong team, you'll want to take your stream down and repoint the camera to the correct team, then restart the stream. It's important to wait 5 minutes after taking your stream down before putting it back up.
To repoint your camera:
-
Streaming with a third-party camera
- When logged into your sidelineHD account, select your team card
- Select Settings
- Select Stream Settings
- Select Camera Settings
- Select ...
- Select Edit Camera
- Change the dropdown to the correct team
- Select Save
-
Streaming with the sidelineHD app
- Stop the stream by pressing the record button
- Press the back button from the camera screen
- Press the back button from the wrong team page
- Select the correct Team Card
- Select the Game Card
- Select the Go Live
- Select sidelineHD App
- Select Confirm
- Make sure the correct team name is listed on the camera screen
- Press the Record Button
Step 3: Confirm your scoreboard controller is set to iScore
iScore is device-specific; you will want to use the same device you linked sidelineHD with iScore to score games with.
- Login to your sidelineHD Account
- Select the Team Card
- Select Settings in the top right corner
- Select Scoring Settings
-
Confirm iScore is selected as the scoring controller
- If iScore is paired, you should see Screen A, If Yes, skip to Step 5
- If iScore is not paired, you should see Screen B, continue to Step 4
Step 4: Pair iScore
- Select Pair iScore
- Select Transfer to iScore
- The prompts will guide you to turn on iScorecast and import a team. Be sure to follow all of the steps.
- IMPORTANT: After the import, the sidelineHD web app may guide you to create a fake game. This allows our servers to confirm the data connection. If you exit before this step completes, pairing will not complete.
- Go to "GAME MANAGER" within the iScore app to create an iScore game with this new team Check to make sure this game appears on the schedule tab on your sidelineHD team page
-
Select Done
- If this step is skipped, the connection will not be complete
You should be all set! Keep in mind, you can switch sidelineSCORE at anytime by unpairing this integration!
The device you paired iScore with must be the device you score the game with. iScore is device-specific and not cloud-based.
Step 5: Confirm that iScorecast data is making it to iScore's servers
iScore Central is iScore's app-based game viewer. You can search for teams and see recent games.
Your live scorecast should appear on iScoreCentral and be in close sync with your iScore app's scoring.
iScore Central iOS App
iScoreCentral Android App
Manually Re-sync a game to iScoreCentral:
In some situations, you will need to manually prod iScore to synchronize with the server. You may need to perform this step when:
- Using the lineup tool
- Re-titling the game after it's started
- Restarting iScore
If you scoreboard still isn't showing up: Unpair iScore and pair it again from your scoring device:
If it says you are paired, you should see any games you recently created on the schedule tab for your SLHD team.
If you do not see recent games on the schedule tab that you created in iScore, this is a major red flag, and you should unpair iScore and then pair iScore using the Transfer Roster to iScore option.
The device you paired iScore with must be the device you score the game with. iScore is device-specific and not cloud-based.
OPTION 1: Pair team manually. This option is best if you have valuable stats stored on your iScore app.
Pairing iScore:
- Login to your sidelineHD Account
- Select the Team Card
- Select Settings in the top right corner
- Select Scoring Settings
- Select Unpair iScore
- Select Pair iScore
- Select Transfer to iScore
-
The prompts will guide you to turn on iScorecast and import a team. Be sure to follow all of the steps.
- During the pairing process, if we detect that there is an iScore team with the same name in your iScore App, select Yes, check for updates.
-
IMPORTANT: After the import, the sidelineHD web app may guide you to create a fake game. This allows our servers to confirm the data connection. If you exit before this step completes, pairing will not complete.
- Go to "GAME MANAGER" within the iScore app to create an iScore game with this new team
- Check to make sure this game appears on the schedule tab on your sidelineHD team page
-
Select Done
- If this step is skipped, the connection will not be complete
You should be all set! Keep in mind, you can switch sidelineSCORE at anytime by unpairing this integration!
OPTION 2: Reset iScore. This option is easiest and recommended if you don't have valuable stats stored on your iScore app. See this article for a step-by-step guide of this process.
