Facebook Profile Streaming

SidelineHD adds overlays and sends your livestreams directly to Facebook for your team community! Keep it easy and stream to your Facebook Profile!

Facebook Profile Restrictions

There are a couple of things to note when choosing to stream to your Facebook Profile! 

  • When streaming to a personal Facebook profile, the profile must be 60 days old to link

  • The profile you choose to stream to must be a profile under its own email login. It cannot be a secondary profile under your Facebook profile.

  • To link and stream to a professional profile, the profile must be 60 days old and have 100 followers

Livestreaming to your Facebook Profile

Keep in mind that Facebook has a minimum of 60-day waiting period before you can link a profile. If you need to livestream sooner, we suggest streaming to YouTube. We also offer sidelineLIVE feed for all teams, which is available immediately for live viewing on your sidelineHD team url/live.

To livestream to your Facebook profile using sidelineHD, you'll need to make sure you link your Facebook profile to your team! Once done you're all set, any future streams will go to your Facebook profile! Follow the steps below to learn how to link your Facebook profile!

  1. Sign into your sidelineHD Account
  2. Select your Team Card
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Select Stream Settings
  5. Select Stream Publishing
  6. Under Additional destinations, select + Facebook
  7. Select Yes, I have live stream set up
  8. We will ask to use facebook.com to Sign In, select Continue
  9. We will ask to post content to your timeline on your behalf and who you would like to see you sidelineHD posts, here you will need to select your audience. Select Friends to open the drop down menu of audience types
  10. Select Continue as {Your Name}
  11. If you have multiple profiles and/or pages, we will ask you where you want to stream. Select {Your Name} (personal profile)
  12. Select Done

Facebook Video Storage


Videos streamed to Facebook, can be replayed, downloaded or shared for up to 30 days. After 30 days, Facebook live videos will be automatically removed from Facebook.

SLHD TIP

For those solely streaming to Facebook, we highly advise you stream to YouTube as well!  YouTube will keep your previous livestreams and ensures all your streams can live on one platform going forward.

How can I update the audience I'm streaming to?
 
You can easily change the privacy settings for your live videos that sidelineHD posts to your profile. Follow the steps below to update your audience setting, please note that this will apply to all future videos posted.

1. Open your Facebook App 
2. Select your Profile icon 
3. Select Settings & Privacy 
4. Select Settings 
5. Select Business Integrations 
6. Click on the carrot next to the sidelineHD option 
7. Select the audience you'd like to change to 
8. Select Save
 
When I try and link Facebook, I see "Failed to fetch profile, Failed to fetch pages"?
 
This is likely due to your phone settings for both the Facebook App and the sidelineHD App not allow tracking. To resolve: 

1. Open your phone settings 
2. Select Apps 
3. Select Facebook 
4. Scroll to the bottom to Allow Tracking and select enable 
5. Next select the back arrow to go back to your list of apps 
6. Select sidelineHD 
7. Scroll to the bottom to Allow Tracking and select enable 
8. Open the sidelineHD app and try and link Facebook. 

If you do not want to allow tracking, you can link your Facebook account using a web browser like Safari or Chrome at www.sidelinehd.com.
