YouTube Privacy Options
YouTube broadcasts may be set to one of the following privacy settings.
YouTube setting |
On YouTube
|
On SidelineHD
|
Public | Video appears in search. Your subscribers are notified when video is LIVE. | YouTube links are clickable. |
Unlisted | Video does not appear in search. The broadcast is viewable by anyone with a direct link. | YouTube links clickable only to logged in community members (player managers, coaches, managers). |
Private | Video is only viewable by channel admin and selected individuals. (Not recommended for team use) |
No special restrictions. (Not recommended for team use.) |
If you want team families to find and watch your stream, we recommend publishing your stream as Public.
To restrict post-game viewing, consider setting the broadcast to Unlisted after the game is over. Your broadcast won't show up on search, and sidelineHD only allows logged-in community members to click-through to the broadcast (player managers, coaches, and team managers). We can do this for you automatically – click here to learn more.
Changing a Broadcast's Privacy Settings
You can adjust privacy settings at any time, including when the stream is LIVE.
For desktop browsers: log in to your YouTube channel, open the broadcast and click EDIT.
For mobile browsers: go to studio.youtube.com. Do NOT open the app. The browser interface allows you to change the privacy settings of LIVE / previous videos.
Find your broadcast and click on Public / Private / Unlisted to change the privacy setting.
