This is an experimental feature for our advanced livestreamers and may be less reliable and subject to change. We do not provide direct support for experimental features and do not recommend them for new users.
Using SRT is another method to send your stream to sidelineHD and receive the same features of stream UP/DOWN messages, publishing to Facebook/YouTube and clips. SRT protocol allows you to use HEVC (H.265) video compression, which sends the same quality video in 1/2 the bandwidth. This can provide a more reliable data transmission in certain situations.
Using SRT is an advanced, experimental feature. Moving forward, we assume that you:
- Have an account on sidelineHD and have successfully published a sidelineHD game to Facebook or YouTube via RTMP
Creating your SRT URL:
To start, you will need to find your Stream Key. Your SRT URL is made up of a URL and your stream key. You will need to find your stream key to move forward with creating your SRT URL.
- Login to your sidelineHD account
- Select the Team Card you are streaming for
- Select Settings
- Select Stream Settings
- Select Camera Settings
- Select your Advanced Camera
- If you don't have one listed, learn to create one in our Streaming with an Unlisted Camera article
- Click the three dots next to your camera selection
- Select Advanced Settings
- Copy your Stream Key
- Add your Stream Key to the end of this SRT URL:
- srt://g002.sideline-ingest.com:50000?streamid=shd03/{Stream Key}
-
In some situation, you may need to use the URL listed below:
- srt://g002.sideline-ingest.com:50000?maxbw=625000&latency=3000&streamid=shd03/{Stream Key}
- Ex.
- Stream Key: s03-wwww-xxxx-yyyy-zzzz
- SRT URL: srt://g002.sideline-ingest.com:50000?streamid=shd03/s03-wwww-xxxx-yyyy-zzzz
SLHD TIP (SRT Parameters):
- We recommend H.265 (HEVC). There are easier ways to send us H.264.
- Do not exceed 4mbit (maxbw = 625000)
- Do not exceed 1080p
- For time-sync parity, we currently force a latency = 3000ms
