Pinch and Courtesy runners are commonly used but can cause a little bit of a headache when scoring. We're here to make that easy for you and walk you through how to score them!
When should I use a Pinch Runner?
Pinch Runners are a legal substitution. Selecting a pinch runner will replace that batter/runner with the player you select. This will move the runner you are replacing out of the game.
When should I use a Courtesy Runner?
Courtesy runners can replace runners on the bases (typically used for pitchers and catchers and in many leagues it is the last out) Former runner stays in the game and still bats in their batting order.
Scoring a Pinch Runner
- Select the runner on base to replace
- What happened to the runner? Look at the bottom of the popup screen
- Under Replaced
- Select Pinch Runner
- Select the player from the bench who will be the pinch runner
- Select Confirm at the bottom of the screen
