Scoring the Mercy Rule

In this article, we walk through instructions on how to score a couple of Mercy Rules.

A mercy rule ends the game immediately when a team leads by a specified run differential once a designated inning is reached or exceeded. If the home team reaches the required lead in the bottom half of the inning, the game ends immediately.

Specific mercy-rule requirements vary by organization and age of your players. The same process is used regardless of Mercy Run Rule that is used.

How to Score

Follow these instructions once the run rule is reached and the final run is scored by the winning team (or the inning in which the run rule was reached has ended if the winning team is away).

  1. Select the Gear Icon at the top left of the scoring screen
  2. Select End game
    • You will be prompted with two options:
      • End game
      • Pause game
  3. Select End game to officially end the game.
    • Important: Ending the game is final and cannot be undone.
